There are numerous denominations in Christianity; many have different ideas/doctrines of what the Bible teaches. However some of these denominations do seem to find a common ground on the non negotiable or fundamental truths such as the Person and the Character of God, the Bible being understood as God’s true and Divine Word, and that salvation can only come through the finished work of Christ.
However, there are various cults who have taken upon the name of Christianity to dilute the message of the Bible and present a false Christ to their hearers. The JW organisation, UKCG and Mormonism all fall into this category of falsehood.
Satan has been at work against the church for the last 2000 years. He has been using the truth to make a counterfeit so that it is easily expected causing many to fall in error and just as a little sugar makes the medicine go down in the same way a deception mixed with very little truth makes deception acceptable.
The bible of course warns of this deception.
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in heresies, even denying the Master who bought them. (2 Peter 2:1)
All cults have one thing in common i.e. they all demean the divinity of Jesus Christ.
We often meet Jehovah Witnesses’ and other groups on the streets of Southall. We challenge them on these serious issues and they repeatedly tell us that Jesus is either Michael an archangel or He is just somebody God created. This is a heresy because the Bible never says that Jesus is either an archangel or that He was created. Their leaders tell lies to them. Upon a strong challenge about these issues, instead of opening the Bible, they wish to go back to their leaders so that they can find better answers. That’s the real problem. They have never known God and His word; consequently they are trapped into the deceptions of their leaders.
The Bible tells us that He is God and He Himself became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:4, John 3:16, Philippians 2:6-7) so that one day He would offer Himself as a perfect sacrifice to save us from the wrath to come. The Bible also tells us that Jesus is indeed divine (Revelation 1:8, Isaiah 44:6).
If you are a Jehovah’s Witness or Mormon then I urge to read the Bible carefully. Repent and believe the true Gospel before it is too late.
