This Sunday, 6 September 2015 at 11am, you are invited to hear a special message from the Bible dealing with the issue of family conflict.

The Bible has a lot to say about family conflict in general and family life in particular: the origins of family; the pressures families face; instructions for family members; resolving family conflict; and more importantly, God’s chosen means of blessing individuals, families and even nations.

In a town like Southall, I regularly come across people who are dealing with family conflict in some shape or form. Many people carry anger, bitterness, hurt and resentment, whilst some simply are trying to find a way to bring peace into their situation. Sometimes the underlying causes are found in cultural practices or traditions; other times blame, misunderstanding and miscommunication lie at the heart. In almost all situations, sinful beliefs and behaviours are found present in some guise.

However, we are hopeful and thankful because God has not abandoned us to our own devices. In His love, mercy and grace He has given us His Word – the Bible – a 66 book love letter that helps us see the reality of our situation and come to a place of reconciliation and peace His way. Furthermore, He has also given us His Son, Jesus Christ, the sinless saviour who presents us the perfect example in all things. The one of whom the Bible says “…in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them…” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

But be warned, He has a few things to say to us individually as well. He desires for us to see the bigger picture first. If you are serious about resolving your family conflict, come and hear the Christ-centred way of doing it. Your life will never be the same again.

Sunday 11am, Grace Church Southall.
