Question: What is the gospel?
Answer: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

1. God is a righteous and good God, and because He is just, He must punish all sin and evil.

2. Man is a guilty sinner. He has offended God by breaking His Law. We have lied, stolen, lusted, hated and the list carries on. Therefore, we deserve to be punished for all eternity. Man is hopeless. His good works cannot save him from the justice of God.

3. God is a God of love. Out of great love for us (the guilty sinners), He sent His only begotten Son to die on our place so that we can escape justice and God still executed justice by punishing Jesus on that cross. Jesus have His life as ransom for our sins. He did that for us because He loved us so much.

4. This is the gospel: the good news. You could not save yourself by doing good works; you cannot bribe your way into heaven. You are on your way to hell. Therefore, you are commanded by God to repent and believe this good news. Jesus is the only way to know God and His salvation.

You cannot have relationship with God unless you are first reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. You don’t have to die in your sin. Come and be reconciled, before it’s too late. The Bible says,”if you confess with you mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, then you will be saved.”
